Who I Work With
Impressive on paper. Running on empty in private.
Our clients are the women everyone else calls first. The executive, the attorney, the physician, the founder, the one who handles it. From the outside, your life looks decided. Privately, there is the 3 a.m. mental replay, the resentment with nowhere to go, and a suspicion that you have not felt like yourself in a long time.
Most of our clients would never have called it anxiety. They called it being tired and wired, unable to turn their mind off, short with the people they love. Whatever you call it, if it is costing you sleep, peace, or yourself, it belongs here. Naming it is part of the work.
You do not need to be in crisis to deserve this. You need one hour a week that belongs entirely to you, with someone trained to do more than listen.
- The constant hum of pressure that hides behind competence, control, and a full calendar
- Relationships where you overgive, keep the peace, and quietly disappear
- Perfectionism and the exhausting fear of being seen struggling
- Transitions in career, marriage, motherhood, and identity
- Burnout from being the strong one in every room
“Therapy here is not another place to perform. It is the one room where you can finally set it all down.”
Services
Serious clinical care, built around your life.
Individual Psychotherapy
Weekly or biweekly 50-minute sessions grounded in evidence-based approaches and tailored to women managing anxiety, perfectionism, and relational strain. Focused, structured, and honest.
Telehealth, Statewide
Every session is held on a secure, HIPAA-compliant video platform. No commute, no waiting room, no rearranging your week. Los Angeles to Sacramento, your therapist travels with you.
A Founder-Led Team
Every clinician at Burnett Clinical Group is personally selected by Dr. Burnett, a DSW-prepared clinician and university faculty member, and practices under her clinical direction. You are matched with the right therapist for you, backed by doctorate-level leadership.
How It Begins
Three steps. The first takes fifteen minutes.
A free consultation call
We speak for fifteen minutes by phone. You share what is bringing you in, ask anything you like, and we decide together whether the practice is the right fit. No forms, no commitment.
Your intake session
A full session to map where you are, where the patterns come from, and what you want to be different. You leave with a clear picture of the work ahead.
The weekly hour
A standing appointment that is yours alone. Most clients notice a shift within the first several weeks: sleeping better, reacting less, and telling the truth sooner.
Founder & Clinical Director
Dr. Dezetta Burnett, DSW, LCSW
I am a doctorate-level licensed clinical social worker with more than twenty years across clinical practice, behavioral health leadership, and graduate social work education. I have run organizations, taught the clinicians who will treat the next generation, and sat with hundreds of women in the quiet work of getting their lives back.
Burnett Clinical Group is built on one standard: care I would send my own people to. I personally select every clinician in the practice, provide clinical supervision to our registered associates, lead weekly team case consultation, and oversee the quality of care for every client we serve.

Availability
The practice keeps a deliberately small caseload so that every client has a consistent standing time, including select early morning and evening hours for demanding schedules.
Scope of care
The practice serves adult women, 18 and over, residing in California, for outpatient telehealth psychotherapy. It does not provide crisis services, treatment for minors, or residential levels of care.
For Clinicians
Clinical supervision and a place to grow.
Individual Clinical Supervision
BBS-qualified supervision for associate clinical social workers and pre-licensed clinicians, led by a DSW-prepared supervisor and graduate social work educator. Structured, documented, and oriented toward licensure and clinical excellence.
Group Supervision
A weekly group supervision cohort for registered associates and pre-licensed clinicians: case consultation, diagnostic reasoning, documentation standards, and the professional identity work that individual supervision rarely has room for.
Join the Practice
Burnett Clinical Group is growing. Associates and licensed clinicians who share our standard of care for women are invited to introduce themselves. Supervision toward licensure is provided within the practice.
FAQ
Common questions
I have never done therapy. What is the first call like?
It is a conversation, not an evaluation. You share what has been going on in whatever words come, we ask a few questions, and we tell you honestly whether the practice is the right fit and which of our clinicians would serve you best. If we are not the right fit, we will point you toward someone who is.
How much does therapy cost, and do you take insurance?
You choose your path: sessions with Dr. Burnett are $275, sessions with a licensed clinician on the team are $200 to $225, and sessions with a supervised associate are $135 to $150, with the initial 15-minute consultation always free. We are private pay and provide superbills for out-of-network reimbursement; in-network insurance participation is expanding. Under the federal No Surprises Act, you have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate of expected charges before beginning care.
Is online therapy as effective as in person?
For adults seeking outpatient psychotherapy, research consistently finds telehealth comparably effective, particularly for anxiety. Most of my clients find they are more consistent and more candid from a private space of their own choosing.
How often will we meet, and for how long?
Most clients begin weekly to build momentum, then adjust as goals are met. Length of treatment varies with what you bring; this is focused work, not therapy without a destination.
Do you prescribe medication?
No. I provide psychotherapy. When a medication evaluation may help, I refer to trusted psychiatric providers and coordinate your care with your consent.
What if I am in crisis?
This practice does not provide crisis or emergency services. If you are experiencing a mental health emergency, call or text 988 for the Suicide and Crisis Lifeline, call 911, or go to your nearest emergency room.
Is what I share confidential?
Yes. Sessions are confidential and held on a HIPAA-compliant platform, within the limits of California law, which we review together in full at intake.
